d\u00e9cembre 2024 <\/strong>\u00a0La campagne de l\u2019Arbre de l\u2019espoir a connu un d\u00e9nouement rempli d\u2019\u00e9motions vendredi dernier lors du radiothon pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par les radios communautaires du Nouveau-Brunswick et les stations de radio MaxFM et K945.<\/p><p>Diffus\u00e9 \u00e0 partir du Centre d\u2019oncologie Dr-L\u00e9on-Richard, le radiothon a accueilli plusieurs survivants du cancer qui ont t\u00e9moign\u00e9 des services d\u2019excellence du Centre d\u2019oncologie et de l\u2019Auberge Mgr-Henri-Cormier. De plus, des dizaines d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ves sont venus en personne remettre leur don \u00e0 la suite d\u2019activit\u00e9s dans leur \u00e9cole. Une journ\u00e9e haute en couleurs, retentissante d\u2019un \u00e9norme succ\u00e8s.<\/p><p>Gilles Allain, PDG de la Fondation CHU Dumont, \u00e9tait \u00e9mu lorsqu\u2019il a annonc\u00e9 que la campagne de l\u2019Arbre de l\u2019espoir avait r\u00e9colt\u00e9 1 195 820 $ cette ann\u00e9e. \u00ab La population a r\u00e9pondu \u00e0 l\u2019appel. Je reconnais, dans cet \u00e9lan, la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 et la bont\u00e9 qui caract\u00e9risent si bien nos concitoyens partout dans notre province. Je veux les remercier chaleureusement \u00bb, a-t-il lanc\u00e9.<\/p><p><strong>Rappelons que les fonds amass\u00e9s cette ann\u00e9e serviront \u00e0\u00a0:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Soutenir les services \u00e0 l\u2019Auberge Mgr-Henri-Cormier, qui loge gratuitement des patients en traitements d\u2019oncologie et leurs accompagnateurs;<\/li><li>Offrir des programmes gratuits de soutien non m\u00e9dical pour aider les gens \u00e0 mieux vivre avec le cancer;<\/li><li>Appuyer des projets de recherche sur le cancer \u00e0 l\u2019Institut atlantique de recherche sur le cancer (IARC); et<\/li><li>Faire l\u2019acquisition d\u2019une technologie de pointe qui permettra la curieth\u00e9rapie (radioth\u00e9rapie \u00e0 haut d\u00e9bit) pour traiter le cancer de la prostate et les diff\u00e9rents cancers gyn\u00e9cologiques.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>L\u2019Arbre de l\u2019espoir, une mobilisation exemplaire<\/strong><\/p><p>Le succ\u00e8s d\u2019une campagne d\u2019envergure comme celle-ci est sans \u00e9quivoque attribuable \u00e0 l\u2019engagement, la volont\u00e9 d\u2019aider et la mobilisation de toutes nos communaut\u00e9s. Des activit\u00e9s ont lieu tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et la campagne culmine en novembre alors que diff\u00e9rentes collectes de fonds sont organis\u00e9es partout dans la province.<\/p><p>\u00ab C\u2019est impressionnant de voir \u00e0 quel point toute la population, jeunes et moins jeunes, est engag\u00e9e dans la campagne, a poursuivi monsieur Allain. Je pense \u00e0 tous ces \u00e9l\u00e8ves des diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9coles qui r\u00e9coltent des dons consid\u00e9rables et \u00e0 des personnes cl\u00e9s dans les r\u00e9gions qui organisent activit\u00e9 apr\u00e8s activit\u00e9, sans se lasser. Si on pouvait mettre un chiffre sur leur don de soi, nous en serions \u00e0 plusieurs millions! Merci aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves, aux b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, aux organisateurs d\u2019activit\u00e9s, aux municipalit\u00e9s pour leurs illuminations d\u2019arbres de l\u2019espoir, et j\u2019en oublie s\u00fbrement! Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 vous et \u00e0 tous nos g\u00e9n\u00e9reux donateurs, les patients du Centre d\u2019oncologie peuvent garder espoir \u00bb, a mentionn\u00e9 le PDG.<\/p><p><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Quelques chiffres en 2023\u2026<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>75 000 visites au Centre d\u2019oncologie Dr-L\u00e9on-Richard et aux cliniques en r\u00e9gion<\/li><li>426 patients et 101 accompagnateurs log\u00e9s gratuitement \u00e0 l\u2019Auberge Mgr-Henri-Cormier<\/li><li>Cancers les plus fr\u00e9quents\u00a0: sein, poumon, colorectal et prostate<\/li><li>Chaque semaine, 95 N\u00e9o-Brunswickois apprennent qu\u2019ils ont un cancer<\/li><\/ul><ol><li>Allain avoue que la gr\u00e8ve \u00e0 Postes Canada s\u2019est fait ressentir.\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Habituellement, le tiers des dons proviennent du publipostage que nous envoyons \u00e0 nos fid\u00e8les donateurs. Cette ann\u00e9e, nous avons remarqu\u00e9 une baisse notoire des dons par la poste. Nous invitons les gens, si ce n\u2019est pas d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait, \u00e0 continuer de faire un don en appelant au 1-800-862-6775 ou en ligne \u00e0 fondationdumont.ca\u00a0\u00bb, a rappel\u00e9 le PDG.<\/li><\/ol><p>Depuis ses d\u00e9buts en 1989, la campagne de l\u2019Arbre de l\u2019espoir a permis de recueillir plus de 35 millions $ pour contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019am\u00e9lioration du confort et des soins offerts aux patients atteints de cancer.<\/p><p>La Fondation remercie chaleureusement toutes les radios communautaires de la province ainsi que MaxFM et K945 pour leur engagement \u00e0
