A meaningful legacy gift is helping strengthen the future of nursing in our region.

Moncton, May 29, 2026 –
The Doug and Gloria MacDonald Family has established an endowment fund to support the professional development of nurses at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont. This generous gift honours Gloria MacDonald, a proud nurse originally from Cape Breton, whose career was defined by compassion, dedication, and service to patients and families.
As an endowed fund, this contribution will be invested in perpetuity, creating a permanent source of support for continuing education, training, and professional advancement. Year after year, it will empower nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional care. This initiative aligns with the Campaign for Professional Development in Healthcare, which is strengthening healthcare capacity through investment in people.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the late Doug and Gloria MacDonald for their extraordinary generosity and vision. We also sincerely thank The Doug and Gloria MacDonald Foundation, as well as family members Matthew, Kayla, and Wendy MacDonald (pictured), the latter being the daughter of Doug and Gloria MacDonald, for helping bring this legacy to life.
