Chloé Gallant recently completed her first year in Health Sciences at Université de Moncton. A native of Cocagne, this young lady has always been very involved in her school and community. She played multiple sports in school, including hockey, soccer, and volleyball, and greatly contributed to life at her school through her participation in a range of activities, often as an organizer. In addition, she was an assistant coach of the NB East Bantam AAA Rockets where she shared her hockey skills and leadership abilities with other young women. Last but not least, Chloé volunteered for the Jeux de l’Acadie de Kent as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team. Prior to the pandemic, she travelled to Costa Rica and Thailand on humanitarian missions and was preparing for a new mission to Guatemala.
In light of her many achievements, Chloé was awarded the Ronald P. Smyth Memorial Scholarship when she graduated high school. When asked by Smyth family which charity she would like to receive a donation on her behalf, Chloé chose the Tree of Hope. “The Tree of Hope is a very important cause to me,” Chloé told the CHU Dumont Foundation, “because I know several people who have been affected by cancer. I was also a member of Tree of Hope fundraising committees when I was a student, so I was happy to learn that a donation would be made to the cause.”
