Our Foundation

The CHU Dumont Foundation is committed to supporting development and improving the quality of care at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, in Moncton, New Brunswick, through the acquisition of cutting-edge equipment, funding improvements to infrastructure, or supporting research efforts. Its objectives are simple: improve patient experience and ensure access to the best care possible.

The Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Regional Hospital Foundation was founded in 1983 to ensure financial support to the hospital facility and, more specifically, its provincial vocation with respect to the specialized care offered there, as well as the hospital's research and teaching programs. In 2010, it became the CHU Dumont Foundation when the provincial government designated the hospital as a university hospital centre. To this day, it is the only healthcare institution to have this designation in New Brunswick.

Over the years, the Foundation has made numerous large-scale projects possible, including the construction of the Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge which accommodates close to 2,000 patients from the region and elsewhere each year, the implementation of the MOREOB Program to improve patient safety in the obstetrics department, and the creation of an outdoor patio to benefit palliative care patients.

Guided by respect, courage, honesty, inclusion, commitment and leadership, the CHU Dumont Foundation aims to be the provincial leader recognized for its philanthropic culture and transparency and known for its invaluable and diverse programs.

To this day, it seeks to fully engage its partners and the community in the improvement of healthcare services at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
