Moncton, December 1, 2025 – The Tree of Hope radiothon organized by the CHU Dumont Foundation was a tremendous success last Friday. It was with great emotion that the Foundation's CEO, Gilles Allain, announced the amount raised during the campaign at 5:55 p.m.:

$1,426,149

Returning to the CCNB – Dieppe Campus, the radiothon was presented by New Brunswick francophone community radio stations and MaxFM and K945 radio stations. The $1 million campaign goal was greatly exceeded, which was a wonderful surprise of those in attendance and the Foundation team.

As in previous years, the radiothon welcomed several cancer survivors who testified to the excellent services provided by the Oncology Centre and the Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge. In addition, several community groups and dozens of students came in person to deliver their donations following activities at their schools.

“It's impressive to see how the entire population, young and old alike, is mobilized and committed to the campaign,” said Gilles Allain, CEO of the Foundation. "Thank you to the students, volunteers, activity organizers, and municipalities for their Tree of Hope lighting events. Thanks to you and all our generous donors, patients at the Oncology Centre can keep hope alive," said the CEO.

The CEO also highlighted the commitment of an exceptional family, who put in a tremendous amount of effort and devoted many hours to raising awareness throughout the community. Jesse Chiasson, a 22-year-old cancer survivor, was incredibly generous in agreeing to share his story throughout the Tree of Hope campaign. "Jesse's various testimonials, as well as those of his mother Sonia, touched the hearts of people on social media and in traditional media. We thank them warmly," added Mr. Allain.

Since its inception in 1989, the Tree of Hope campaign has raised over $36.5 million to help improve the comfort and care of cancer patients.

The funds raised this year will be used to:

  • Support services at Auberge Mgr. Henri-Cormier, which provides free accommodation to cancer patients undergoing treatment and their companions;
  • Offer free non-medical support programs to help people live better with cancer;
  • Support cancer research projects at the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI); and
  • Support children with cancer and their families.

The Foundation would like to thank its valued sponsors for their commitment to making this day a resounding success:

  • CCNB – Dieppe Campus
  • UNI Financial Cooperation
  • Production X Atlantique
  • Bob Lee Productions
  • CJSE Radio Beauséjour and all the francophone community radio stations in the province
  • MaxFM and K945

See you Friday, November 27, 2026!
