Michael Cantwell named Vice President, Philanthropy of the CHU Dumont Foundation

Moncton, N.B. September 14, 2023 – Gilles Allain, Chief Executive Officer of the CHU Dumont Foundation, is pleased to announce that Michael Cantwell is the organization’s new Vice President, Philanthropy.

 

Mr. Cantwell has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Université de Moncton, a teaching degree from Université Laval, and obtained his master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of British Columbia (UBC).

 

The new Vice President has considerable experience in philanthropy, beginning at McGill University as Director of Development at the Faculty of Law. He later held similar roles at Mount Allison University and the Université de Moncton. Since 2018, Mr. Cantwell was Executive Director of the Arthur L. Irving Family Foundation.

Created in 1983, the CHU Dumont Foundation directly supports the improvement of care offered at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. It plays a leading role in improving specialized care, research, and teaching programs, as well as infrastructure and equipment. Since its beginnings, the CHU Dumont Foundation has raised more than $70 million through various fundraising activities, including the annual Tree of Hope campaign.
